ABOUT

It is the mission of the Rusk County Youth Council to combine the resources of the county for the purpose of preventing and solving violence, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug problems of our children and youth by integrating resources through communication and collaborative planning towards prevention of at risk behavior, encouragement of health and wellness, positive youth development, and resiliency for youth ages 0-21 years and their families.

RCYC meets every 3rd Tuesday from noon to 1pm at the Rusk County Law Enforcement Center in the County Board Room. This meeting is a hybrid meeting with the option to meet in person or virtually via Zoom.
Interested in coming to our meetings? Anyone is free to join us! If you are in attendance you are considered a voting member. Bring your ideas and share with the group.

RCYC is a nonprofit organization that is operated solely by volunteers. We have many opportunities and events that we need help with each year.

RCYC Events

National Night Out is an annual community-building initiative that occurs on the first Tuesday in August. Communities across the country host National Night Out events to build positive relationships between the community and law enforcement. Rusk County's NNO involves representatives from law enforcement, EMS, the fire department, and the DNR.
This event is free and open to the whole community. There is a free meal, activities, giveaways, vehicle tours, demonstrations, music, and more.
This event is made possible because of many volunteers and community donations. RCYC was awarded a Give365Rusk grant for this event.
National Night Out

Dude You're Pretty Ok Day
A free all-guys event for 6-12 graders to learn about empowering themselves and other young men to achieve their goals. The event consists of sessions led by community volunteers in a range of topics and specialties, activities, food, hygiene bags, and more.
The purpose of the event is to help young men learn about topics affecting them, connect with other men in the community, and enjoy a day with their peers.
This event is made possible because of many volunteers and community donations.

I'm Worth it Day
A free all-girls event for 6-12 graders to learn about empowering themselves and other young women to achieve their goals. The event consists of sessions led by community volunteers in a range of topics and specialties, activities, food, hygiene bags, and more.
